About the Conference

The Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA) Scientific Meeting 2025 will be held from Wednesday 16 to Friday 18 July at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart, Tasmania. The AEA was officially founded in 1987 as the professional association in the Australasian region dedicated to excellence in epidemiological research, education, training and advocacy.

Conference theme: 'Embracing change: epidemiological methods for the future'

The conference will explore the intersection of traditional epidemiology with the opportunities and challenges presented by digital transformation.

 

Key themes will explore:

  • Artificial Intelligence in epidemiology

  • The internet of things and cohort studies

  • Realtime surveillance and monitoring

  • Data privacy and ethics

  • Capacity building and training for the future
     

We invite abstract submissions for oral presentations, posters and ECR workshop presentations at the Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA) 2025 Scientific Meeting. 


The conference will feature expert national and international speakers presenting under this theme. It will also highlight
epidemiological investigations undertaken across a range of settings including academic, government and non-government
organisations.
