CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
We invite abstract submissions for long oral, rapid fire and poster presentations at the Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA) 2025 Scientific Meeting.

The Conference will focus on ‘Embracing change: epidemiological methods for the future’.
​
The conference will explore the intersection of traditional epidemiology with the opportunities and challenges presented by digital transformation. The conference will feature expert national and international speakers presenting under the themes:

Artificial Intelligence in epidemiology

The internet of things and cohort studies

Realtime surveillance and monitoring
-
Data privacy and ethics
-
Capacity building and training for the future
It will also highlight epidemiological investigations undertaken across a range of settings including academic, government and non-government organisations.

Presentation Types
Long Oral Presentations
Presenters will have a total of 8 minutes to present plus 2 minutes for questions. Places are limited.
Rapid Fire (Short Oral)
Presenters will have a total of 4 minutes presentation time plus 1 minute for 1 question.
Poster Presentations
Designated periods will be allocated in the program when presenters will attend their posters to take questions and discuss their work.

​Abstract Submission
We welcome submission of abstracts for the 2025 AEA Scientific Meeting.
All submitted abstracts must have clear outcomes.
Papers that have clear epidemiological significance will be considered and accepted in association with the Scientific Meeting theme and outcomes of the presentation.

​Abstract Requirements

All intended presentations require the submission of an abstract. All abstracts will be subject to peer review. To facilitate blinded review of the abstracts for presentations or posters, do not include identifying information on authors or their affiliations in the title or text of the abstract. You will be prompted to provide author names and affiliations elsewhere in the abstract submission.

The abstract title should be no longer than 12 words.

The abstract should be a maximum of 300 words in simple text paragraphs without images or tables.

The abstract should include sub-headings: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

All presenters must register and pay the registration fee at the time of confirming their acceptance of their presentation offer.

It is the submitting author’s responsibility to ensure that the abstract uploaded to the server is the correct version.
